So my friend Jan (who has been keeping me out of trouble for the last 4 years) just had a total knee replacement. I have worked with Jan at my past 2 jobs. Even Judy would tell me to "sit by Jan in your meetings..she will keep you out of trouble"! So the least I could do to pay her back for the countless cries, gripe sessions, advice, and laughter was to take a couple turns as her caregiver. The role of the caregiver, usually filled by her real daughter Noelle, consists of fixing plates, filling drinks, passing out pills, putting her knee in a machine, and helping her out of bed and into the bathroom. And don't worry, just in case you are in the other room, she has a bell to ring to get your attention. I know Noelle joins me in my deep distain for said bell! :) My deep dark secret is that I am not really spending the night to help Jan, I am there, in fact, for the FOOD! Let me just tell you that everyone Jan knows has brought over something homemade. This particular night I dined on smoked ribs and homemade rolls while she had jello because because her pills were making her sick. I wish I could tell you that I felt guilty...but that would be a lie! And Judy and Jan will both know when I am lying! :)
Here I am in the bed with Jan reading my book..I am not sure whether to thank Jess and Steph for introducing me to this series or curse them! Yes (I am not proud to admit) I am now in the ranks of the 2/3 of North American women who are obsessed with these books.
Can you guess which knee belongs to which girl?
I love JAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
